Default Upgrading from GW Prophecies to Nightfall

Hi All\

Well I had a few issues doing the upgrade but it finally worked opening up 2 extra char slots in the log in screen.

My issue is I am a newb bought Guild Wars (Prophecies) although it doesnt say prophesies on the box played all weekend and decided I wanted the other additions. Reading the Gurus here I decided to just go with GW Nightfall and of course Eye of the North. I installed Nightfall and then the fun started using 1 of the new charr slots I created
a new Char Monk/??? thinking I could do Pre searing Ascalon GW Prophecies Newb ville again.

I found myself on Island of Shekah rather than the all too familiar Pre Searing Ascalon.

The Char slot I picked was one of the 2 new ones.

Does this mean that I cant start a char in Pre searing anymore which I now know quite well and have to relearn all the maps in a new addition?

How do I start a new char in pre searing? And what will happen when I upgrade to Eye of the North?

I have looked around a bit for answers but couldnt find any in wiki.

Love the game but as they say in Australia I can be a bit "stunned mullett" or "a couple of kangaroos loosse in the top paddock" and hope this aint a really NOOBISH KACK question.

Congratulations to all the hard work put into this site

Cheers

PS some of the jargon is hard to understand is there a jargon guide : )

Uhhh. You tell it to make the character a Prophecies character, not a NightFall one? What's the point in buying NightFall if you aren't even going to play it? Are you an avid PvPer? Plan on unlocking all those new skills with Faction, or are you just going to let them collect dust?

On the character creation screen you choose which campaign you want your character to start in. You cannot create any characters in Eye of the North, only take existing characters there.

Thumbs up

First the game asks if you want to play an existing character or a new one. If you choose a new one, it asks if you want to play Roleplaying, or PVP. If you choose Roleplaying, it asks which campaign you want. You just have to select GuildWars, and you will start in presearing Ascalon.

There is a sticky for new players, which should answer most of your basic questions. - http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...d.php?t=107306

Welcome and have fun!

Hi Bloodgoat

1) I wanted to have the option of choosing which place to start is all and as im a newbie I hope to play all campaigns but just wished to have the Ones I liked the look of and I read somewhere in a post on here I think it was somewhere in regard to which upgrades I should buy that for a Newbie PvE fan that the NF and Eye of the North would be the ones I would enjoy most.
If this means I should get Factions I will as I dont want to lose out on skills etc.

No I wont let them collect dust and will get factions when needed I guess LOL.

You said "You tell it to make the character a Prophecies character, not a NightFall one?" How do I do that ?

Thanks for your reply and understanding

Cheers
